Investing in our community

We believe in putting in every effort into upgrading the quality of life in Macau, especially for those who do not benefit immediately from Macau's rapid economic transformation. We place special emphasis on improving social welfare, medical services and education in Macau.

We regularly sponsor important cultural, educational and tourist events in Macau and we also invite renowned artistic and cultural groups from China and overseas to perform in Macau to promote and strengthen cultural and social ties.

Educational contributions include scholarships provided at the University of Macau and Macau Millennium College, as well as educational benefits for our own staff. SJM pays tuition for staffs who study at Macau Millennium College (degree and non-degree courses), and provides scholarships to children of our staff to study at institutions of their choice. We also work with Macau Millennium College to develop special courses for staff, such as in Mandarin language or computer skills.

Our commitment often stretches beyond Macau's borders, as well. For instance, SJM contributes transportation and hotel accommodation in Macau to charitable groups and other associations involved in sports, arts and culture from Hong Kong, Macau and the China Mainland. We have also donated extensively in times of need to various organisations on the Mainland, including relief aid for victims of snowstorm and earthquake.
