14 October 2024 – Upholding the spirit of “Love the Motherland, Love Macau”, SJM Resorts, S.A. (“SJM”) is dedicated to promoting patriotism and continues to organise various patriotic activities for team members to bolster their sense of patriotism. This year, in celebration of the 75th Anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China and the 25th Anniversary of the establishment of the Macao SAR, SJM organised a screening of the patriotic movie “The Volunteers II: The Battle of Life and Death” for its staff on 14 October. This event aimed to deepen team members’ understanding of the nation and nurture their sense of belonging and identity with their country.

Mr. Yang Yi, Deputy Director of the Economic Affairs Department of the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the Macao SAR, Mr. Kuong Chi Fong, Vice-Director of the Macau Federation of Trade Unions, Ms. Angela Leong, Director and Chairman of the Staff Welfare Consultative Committee of SJM, Dr. Rui Cunha, Secretary-General of SJM, and approximately 190 team members watched the movie together. The movie was the second in the three-part series “The Volunteers.” SJM organised a movie screening of the first part, “The Volunteers: To The War,” for staff, which received an overwhelming response.

Bonded to the motherland, SJM employs various methods to effectively tell the good story of China, engaging citizens and team members to deepen their understanding of  the national history and achievements. In addition to movie screenings, SJM organised a series of patriotic activities, including visits to the National Security Education Exhibition, sharing sessions on the spirit of the Two Sessions, the Jinggangshan Patriotic Education and Training Programme, staff visits to the Greater Bay Area, and patriotic training. SJM also curated exchange activities for Macau's youth in the Greater Bay Area, aiming to pass on the patriotic spirit. Looking ahead, SJM will keep advocating for the value of patriotic education, foster Macau’s role in the nation’s development during the new era, achieve closer integration, and inject new energy for the prosperity of the country and Macau.
