9 October 2025 – SJM Resorts, S.A. (“SJM”), in collaboration with the SJM Staff Welfare Consultative Committee (“SWCC”) and the SJM Joint Consultative Committee, hosted a reception to celebrate the 76th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China on 9 October at The Grand Pavilion of Grand Lisboa Palace Resort Macau. Mr. Timothy Fok, Chairman of the Board of Directors of SJM; Ms. Daisy Ho, Managing Director of SJM; Ms. Angela Leong, Director of SJM and Chairman of SWCC; Mr. Vong Hin Fai, Consultant of SJM Joint Consultative Committee, along with more than 2,000 team members participated in the celebratory reception, joining together to promote the spirit of “Love the Motherland, Love Macau”.
The celebratory reception commenced with a solemn flag-raising ceremony. SJM’s flag-raising team carried the national flag to the podium. As the five-star red flag was raised to the sound of the national anthem, staff stood in respectful silence and paid their respect.
In her address, Ms. Daisy Ho, Managing Director of SJM, expressed that China’s journey from reform and opening-up to becoming a technological powerhouse, and from achieving comprehensive moderate prosperity to advancing Chinese modernisation, has been marked by the relentless efforts and dedication of generations of Chinese people, creating miracles that have captured the world’s attention. China’s V-Day military parade demonstrated the nation’s formidable strength and unwavering commitment to safeguarding global peace, filling Chinese people worldwide with immense pride. She reiterated that, as a key participant in Macau’s economic and social development, SJM remains steadfast in its founding principle of “Love the Motherland, Love Macau”. The company actively supports the Macao SAR government’s “1+4” strategy for appropriate economic diversification, with a focus on “tourism+” to drive cross-sector integration and in-depth development of related industries. As the development of the Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin accelerates, SJM is actively engaging in the process, striving to bring its extensive international tourism and leisure expertise and innovative capabilities to Hengqin. This aims to foster integration between Hengqin and Macau and enhance regional “infrastructure connectivity, institutional connectivity, and people-to-people connectivity.”
She emphasised that the Central Government has always been the backbone of support for Macau’s progress. In the face of unprecedented development opportunities, Ms. Ho encouraged all team members to seize the momentum of the times through concrete actions, enhance their professional skills, and cultivate new quality productive forces with Macau characteristics. By embracing innovative thinking and delivering high-quality services, she urged them to welcome guests from all over the world and collectively tell the story of China and the story of Macau well.
Ms. Angela Leong, Director of SJM and Chairman of SWCC, stated that SJM, as always, leverages patriotic-themed staff activities as a platform to enhance team members’ understanding of the nation, strengthen their sense of national identity and ethnic pride, and enable them to establish accurate perspectives on history, ethnicity, and the country. Facing the opportunities and challenges of the new era, she expressed her hope that all team members would continue to uphold the striving spirit of the Chinese nation, constantly enhance their own competitiveness, and channel their patriotic sentiments into concrete actions—demonstrating love for Macau, dedication to their work, and commitment to contributing to society. She encouraged them to advance hand in hand with the company to create a brighter future and build a brand influence that belongs to both Macau and SJM.
Following the speeches, SJM Board of Directors and distinguished guests raised a toast with team members, extending their best wishes for the nation and Macau. Highlights from the reception will also be screened in staff areas across SJM’s properties, allowing team members unable to attend in person to share in the fervent celebratory atmosphere.
As the first integrated resort operator in Macau to introduce systematic patriotic education programmes and “red culture” tours, SJM remains committed to deepening its team members’ understanding of national development through a range of themed activities, including sharing sessions on the spirit of Two Sessions, the “Jiangxi Jinggangshan Patriotic Education and Training Programme”, and the “My Motherland GBA Tour”. These activities uphold the spirit of “Love the Motherland, Love Macau”, while demonstrating SJM’s steadfast support for the national development strategy and the policy direction of the Macao SAR Government.
