14 October 2025 – As part of the “Star Service Formula” Activity Series jointly launched by SJM Resorts, S.A. ("SJM") and Macao Government Tourism Office (“MGTO”), the “Interactive Workshop: A Champion’s Journey in Innovative Mixology” was successfully held on 14 October at Mesa by José Avillez at Grand Lisboa Palace Resort Macau (“Grand Lisboa Palace”). The workshop focused on enhancing local talent development and fostering the growth of Macao’s tourism sector. Mr. Cheng Wai Tong, Acting Director of MGTO, attended the event to show support. 

The “Interactive Workshop: A Champion’s Journey in Innovative Mixology” was led by world cocktail champion and Resort Master Mixologist of Grand Lisboa Palace, Mr. Frederick Ma, and held at the bar area at Mesa by José Avillez, a restaurant with the Five-Star Award from Forbes Travel Guide 2025. Mr. Ma shared the creative inspiration behind the award-winning cocktails and his career journey with over 20 participants, demonstrating mixology techniques and guiding them in crafting signature cocktails that blend Portuguese and Macanese cultural elements. Through the interactive sessions, participants gained deeper insights into premium dining service, explored career paths in mixology, and broadened their understanding of Macao’s tourism industry.

This workshop is part of the “Star Service Formula” Activity Series, which includes upcoming events such as the “Essential Star Service: Three-Step Service Expert Training” and the “Forbes Travel Guide Seminar and Training”.
