SJM Continuously Promotes Responsible Gaming
13 November 2025 – “SJM Responsible Gaming Promotion 2025 Closing Ceremony and Appreciation Ceremony” was held on 13 November at the Grand Pavilion of Grand Lisboa Palace Resort Macau. The ceremony showcased the achievements of SJM Resorts, S.A. (“SJM”)’s responsible gaming promotion efforts throughout the year, while expressing gratitude to collaborating community organisations and schools. It also recognised team members who actively contributed to responsible gaming initiatives. The ceremony was attended by distinguished guests including Mr. Cheang Kam Lei, Head of Department of the Macao Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau, and Mr. Cheang Io Tat, Head of Department of Prevention and Treatment of Problem Gambling and Drug Dependence of the Macao Social Welfare Bureau.
Ms. Daisy Ho, Managing Director of SJM, said that the company has been actively supporting the SAR government’s initiatives to promote responsible gaming. This year, SJM has strengthened further its collaborations with social service organisations and educational institutions. By integrating technology and creative elements, the company has organised a diverse range of activities, aiming to disseminate knowledge of responsible gaming and work with all sectors of society to foster Macau’s long-term stability and sustainable development.
This year, centering on the theme “Seeking Help for Winning the Future”, SJM delivered a series of responsible gaming programmes, which collectively attracted approximately 44,000 participations. The key initiatives included: Collaborating with the Macao Polytechnic University to develop the “RG Smart Game Box app” and a “VR virtual reality RG learning system” to assess the understanding of responsible gaming among team members; Organising seminars and interactive booth games within local Macau schools to promote the concepts of “Financial Responsibility” among students; Partnering with the Macau Millennium College and the Sheng Kung Hui Macau Social Services Coordination Office to create five short films focusing on responsible gaming themes, with the goal of helping individuals establish sound values; Collaborating with three universities from Mainland China and Macau to organise the “RG+ Shanghai-Macao University-Enterprise AI Postcard Collaborative Art Project” and distribute these postcards, which blend Macao's landmarks with creative responsible gaming slogans for visitors. Meanwhile, SJM intensified its community outreach and engagement efforts. In collaboration with social service partners – the Macau Federation of Trade Unions, the Sheng Kung Hui Macau Social Services Coordination Office, the Macau Gaming Employees Home Integrated Service Centre, and the Yat On Centre – the company launched the “Macau Responsible Gaming Development Journey: Exhibition on Operational and Prevention Institutions.”
SJM continued to provide its team members with a structured programme of responsible gaming training this year, and regularly operated on-site information booths and counselling services in staff areas. The company also arranged practical, community-based trips for team members to various social service organisations, enabling them to contribute directly to the community.
