24 October 2025 – To celebrate the 76th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China, the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War, and the 26th anniversary of the establishment of the Macao Special Administrative Region (“Macao SAR”), SJM Resorts, S.A. (“SJM”) in collaboration with the Sociedade de Turismo e Diversões de Macau Retired Employee Association hosted the “Art and Heart Teacher-Student Gathering” Chinese Calligraphy and Painting Exhibition. The event opened on 24 October at the underground gallery of the Plaza Restaurant, with the opening ceremony officiated by Mr. Zhu Wei, Level 4 Researcher from the Department of Publicity and Culture of the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Macao SAR; Ms. Angela Leong, Director of SJM and Chairman of the Staff Welfare Consultative Committee; Mr. Ho Pan, Vice Chairman of the Federation of Associations of Cultural Sectors of Macau; and participating teacher Mr. Kuan Kun-cheong, among other distinguished guests.

This exhibition featured works from 14 students, who are either currently employed by SJM or retired, as well as eight instructors from the “Chinese Calligraphy and Painting Class”, organised by the Cultural-Recreational and Social Services Department of SJM. Over 60 exquisite calligraphy and painting pieces were showcased,  offering the public an opportunity to appreciate the works from students and instructors.

SJM is committed to cultivating the cultural and artistic literacy of both current and retired team members, while emphasising their physical and mental well-being. The company aimed to enrich their leisure lives by regularly organising gatherings, activities, and classes.
