SJM Organises Community Engagement Activities During CTA Tour
7 December 2025 – During the 2025 CTA Tour SJM Professional Finals (Macau) and National Tennis Championships (“CTA Tour”), SJM Resorts, S.A. (“SJM”), now in its fifth consecutive year as title sponsor, organised two meaningful community extension programmes in early December, “Dialogues with Outstanding Athletes” and “Tennis for All – Macau Special Olympics Interaction Camp.” Leveraging tennis as a platform for youth engagement and social inclusion, the activities further broadened the social impact of this major sporting event.
“Dialogues with Outstanding Athletes”: Sharing Competitive Insights and Inspiring Young Minds
On 2 December, the “Dialogues with Outstanding Athletes” session was held at GLP Arte at the Grand Lisboa Palace Resort Macau, featuring the 2022 CTA Tour men’s and women’s singles champions Cui Jie and Liu Fangzhou. They met with 35 secondary and tertiary students from Macau, sharing candid reflections on key turning points in their careers, their approach to training, and how they manage extreme pressure during preparation and competition.
Students took part actively in the discussion, raising questions on topics such as technical readiness, match-day adjustments and athlete self-management. The autograph session at the end of the event brought the atmosphere to its climax, showcasing the strong enthusiasm and curiosity of Macau’s younger generation towards the sport. The event was also attended and supported by Mr. Daniel Shim,
Chief Corporate Affairs Officer of SJM; Ms. Ng Ioc Leng, President of the Macau Tennis Association; and Mr. Wei Shengfan, General Manager of Chinese Tennis Sports of Beijing Co., Ltd. and Chairman of Beijing CTA Tour Sport Management Co., Ltd., who joined in recognising the educational value of the exchange.
“Tennis for All – Macau Special Olympics Interaction Camp”: Experiencing the Joy of Sport and Encouraging Equal Participation
Held on 7 December at the Macau Tennis Academy, the “Tennis for All – Macau Special Olympics Interaction Camp” continued the success of previous editions. Led by the internationally renowned tennis player and Special Olympics Global Ambassador Li Na and the CTA Finals Ambassador Wu Chun, and supported by Mr. Chao Kuok Wai, Director of the Sports Development Department of Sports Bureau of

The session opened with Li Na sharing her insights as the Special Olympics global ambassador and Wu Chun recounting his early experiences and his passion for tennis. Extending the Value of Major Sports Events and Strengthening Community Development
SJM has long supported major sporting events in Macau and continues to bring the spirit of sports into the community through a diverse range of engagement initiatives. This year’s two programmes extended the reach of the tournament along two dimensions, competitive inspiration and inclusive participation. They offered residents opportunities to appreciate tennis beyond the main matches. Looking ahead, SJM will continue to enrich Macau’s sporting culture through innovative initiatives and contribute to the city’s development as a “City of Sports.”
