SJM Resorts, S.A. (“SJM”) is pleased to be collaborating with six emerging artists from the Macau Youth Art Association as part of an on-going effort toward nurturing local artistic talent. On Thursday, 30 March 2023, Grand Lisboa Palace Resort Macau (“Grand Lisboa Palace”) and the art association will jointly unveil “Blossoms at Grand Lisboa Palace – A Group Exhibition by Macau’s Emerging Artists”, an exhibition of large-scale art installations featuring blossoming flowers in springtime on display in the integrated resort. In addition to these exhibits, Grand Lisboa Palace will host monthly weekend art workshops to give families, friends and aspiring young artists the opportunity to let their creative minds blossom.

The six talented emerging artists from the Macau Youth Art Association are: watercolourist Julia Lam; gongbi painting specialist Leong Kit Man; watercolourist Kuok Hoi Leng; Liu Xinjue, who focuses on healing and beauty in her work; as well as Dor Lio and Chiang Wai Lan – both well-known for their fairytale artistic styles. Unlike traditional exhibition formats, the artists in this exhibition do not showcase their pieces as individuals. Instead, they collaborate with each other, while retaining their unique creative styles, to create six large-scale art installations centred around the theme of flowers in bloom, where the possibilities for artistic creation are endless.

The exhibition format extends beyond the picture frame to a three-dimensional space, transforming paintings into flower installations. Each installation blends in beautifully with the exhibition areas, and creates a new, multi-sensory experience for viewers. The six large-scale art installations on display are: “The Best Moment of a Flower Blossom”; “Favourable Weather for Crops”; “Spring Blossoms”; “Twin Lotus Flowers”; Appreciating the Beauty of Others” and “The Graceful Flight of Butterflies”.

The “Blossoms at Grand Lisboa Palace – A Group Exhibition by Macau’s Emerging Artists” will be held at Grand Lisboa Palace from 30 March 2023 to September 2023.
