6 April 2024 – Organised by the Cultural-Recreational and Social Services Division of SJM’s Staff Welfare Consultative Committee, the SJM 2024 Basketball and Football Friendly Invitational Matches were successfully held on 6 April at the Workers Stadium. Held at 12 noon, the opening ceremony was officiated by Mr Ip Hong Seng, Vice President of the Macau China Basketball Association, Mr Lam Kam Hung, Director of Sports Committee of the Macau Federation of Trade Unions and management representatives from participating teams.

Twenty-two participating teams, consisted of over 200 athletes from Grand Lisboa Palace, Grand Lisboa, Oceanus at Jai Alai, SJM’s Security Department, Casino L'Arc, Casino Legend Palace, Macao SLOT, and Wing Hing Lotteries, took part in the basketball and football invitational matches this year. After several rounds of exciting matches, Wing Hing Lotteries, Grand Lisboa (A) and Ponte 16 (B) won first, second and third place, respectively in the basketball match. L'Arc, SJM’s Security Department, and Grand Lisboa became the champion, first runner-up and second runner-up of the football match.

SJM strives to encourage team members to actively participate in sports activities to improve physical and mental health. These friendly matches aim to foster friendships through sports, promote teamwork, and enrich the leisure lives of employees from the company and the industry. The ultimate goal is to provide a platform for gaming employees to foster friendship and exchange, contributing to the development of sports in Macau.
