SJM partners with community associations in donating daily necessities to Macau’s neediest families
Sociedade de Jogos de Macau, S.A. (“SJM”) organised volunteer team members to deliver a total of 800 Macau Jiayou Bags containing daily necessities and anti-epidemic supplies to Macau Special Olympics and Macau Association of the Hearing Impaired for distribution to Macau’s neediest families.
The supplies were delivered to the two community associations by the SJM Volunteer Team members since last Friday. The team members also helped with providing door-to-door delivery service to the elderly and recipients with reduced mobility. The 800 bags contained food and daily necessities including rice, noodles and toilet paper, as well as anti-epidemic masks and hand sanitisers, with all items purchased from local SME vendors as a sign of SJM’s continued support at this critical time.
Mr. Hetzer Siu Yu Hong, Executive Director of Macau Special Olympics, said, “As our long term partner, SJM has been devoting tremendous efforts to help people with special needs, sharing love and warmth with them. We sincerely thank SJM for donating daily necessities and anti-epidemic supplies to our needy families, which fully embodies the company’s commitment to fight the epidemic with the community.”
Mr. Chio Chon Wan, Chairman of Macau Association of the Hearing Impaired, said, “We are grateful for SJM’s donation of masks, hand sanitisers, food and other daily necessities, and also for its volunteer team members’ assistance in delivering the supplies to the residences of some of our members. SJM is highly commended for its corporate social responsibility efforts in helping the underprivileged.”
SJM pledged to donate earlier this month 3,000 Macau Jiayou Bags which are worth MOP1.5 million to Macau’s neediest families via six local community associations, namely Macao Federation of Trade Unions, General Union of Neighbourhood Associations of Macau, The Women’s General Association of Macau, Caritas Macau, Macau Special Olympics and Macau Association of the Hearing Impaired, benefiting the solitary and vulnerable elderly, single-parent families, the chronically ill and persons with disabilities.
