SJM kicks-off the vocational skills competition with Chinese culinary contest
SJM vocational skills competition, organised by SJM Staff Welfare Consultative Committee, held its kick-off ceremony at Grand Lisboa on 21 January 2021. The competition comprises five categories, namely gaming and entertainment, Chinese culinary arts, Western culinary arts, housekeeping, as well as hotel facilities and maintenance.
Held immediately after the kick-off ceremony, the Chinese culinary contest comprised two activities, aiming at demonstrating the “chopping” skills and “frying” skills of the participating chefs. The event, heated by the cheering team on site, contributed an all-round feast of vision, hearing, smell and taste.
Ms. Angela Leong, Managing Director and Chairman of the Staff Welfare Consultative Committee of SJM, said in her speech that SJM is dedicated to providing opportunities, through internal networking platforms, for staff to exchange ideas and to enhance professionalism and creativity. Ms. Leong thanked the contestants for their participation, and hoped that winners of the competition will win more trophies for the company in the open championships.
The other four contests will be held in the following two months, with the whole event scheduled to complete by end of March. An award presentation ceremony will be held later on.
