29 November 2024 – The Associação de Juventude Voluntária de Macau organised an academic exchange tour focused on disaster prevention work from November 25 to 29 in Sichuan. SJM Resorts, S.A. (“SJM”) volunteer team sent two members from their emergency volunteer team to participate.

The itinerary for the exchange program included visits to the National Security Exhibition Gallery, the Wenchuan Emergency Experience Centre, the Dujiangyan Irrigation System, the Science Education Base of First Aid Knowledge and Skills at Chengdu University, the Sichuan Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Education Museum, and the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding. These visits enhanced the participants' understanding of disaster prevention and emergency rescue efforts.

Through this academic exchange tour, SJM aimed to learn from Sichuan's successful experiences in disaster prevention, emergency response, and rescue operations. These experiences will aspire to become a leading model in these areas in the future, upholding the spirit of mutual assistance and compassion.
