11 April 2025 – SJM Resorts, S.A. (“SJM”) successfully conducted the 9th “Jiangxi Jinggangshan Patriotic Education and Training Programme” from 7 to 11 April 2025. As part of the “SJM Patriotic Education Series,” this year’s programme not only engaged SJM team members but also welcomed youth representatives from various Macau community organisations, attracting nearly 100 participants to Jinggangshan. Through immersive learning experiences, participants deepened their understanding of revolutionary heritage, strengthened patriotic unity, and promoted the spirit of “Love for the Motherland, Love for Macau.”

The opening ceremony took place at the Red Education Base of the CPC Jinggangshan Municipal Committee. The event featured honoured guests Mr. Li Bin, Secretary and Chairman of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference of Jinggangshan City, and Mr. Xie Xingchi, Director of the Red Education Base of the CPC Jinggangshan Municipal Committee. This year’s activity was led by Ms. Angela Leong, Director of SJM, Chairman of the SJM Staff Welfare Consultative Committee, Vice-Chairman of the Jiangxi Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese, and an honourary citizen of Jinggangshan. During the ceremony, all participants took a solemn oath and received the class flag, officially marking the commencement of the five-day Jinggangshan Patriotic Education and Training Programme.

The Jinggangshan Patriotic Education and Training Programme offered a rich and diverse itinerary. Upon arrival, participants visited the Folk Culture Museum and then attended the large-scale immersive performance titled “Jinggangshan.” This performance provided profound insights into the historical significance of China’s first rural revolutionary base through experiential learning. At the solemn Revolutionary Martyrs’ Cemetery, all participants honoured the heroic souls by laying wreaths in tribute. Following this, they engaged in an interactive National Defence Music Class titled “The People’s Army,” where stirring revolutionary songs enhanced their sense of patriotism. The programme effectively utilised Jinggangshan’s rich revolutionary heritage through carefully designed field exercises. Participants had the opportunity to experience a day as Red Army soldiers, retracing revolutionary trails to gain first-hand insights into the hardships endured during those turbulent years, thereby gaining a deeper appreciation for the hard-won happiness of today.

The training programme also featured the study at key revolutionary sites, including the Sanwan Reorganisation Memorial Museum and Longjiang Academy. They traced the revolutionary path along historic landmarks such as Huangyangjie Outpost, the Octagonal Building in Maoping, and the route known as the path for Carrying Food, which provided them with an in-depth, on-site understanding of the Red Army’s road to victory. During the graduation ceremony, participants shared their reflections, bringing the programme to a meaningful conclusion. All members were invited to join the “Alumni Association of Jinggangshan Cadre Training Academy of Macau,” committing to integrate the Jinggangshan Spirit into their daily lives and work while promoting the spirit of “Love for the Motherland, Love for Macau”.

SJM upholds the core values of “Love for the Motherland, Love for Macau,” consistently promoting a patriotic spirit within both the corporation and the wider community. Since 2011, SJM has regularly organised the “Patriotic Education – Jiangxi Red Tourism” initiative. In 2014, the company established the “SJM Jinggangshan Patriotic Education Base” in Jiangxi Province. To date, the programme has enabled over 1,200 participants to study in Jinggangshan, making SJM the first integrated resort in Macau to pioneer structured red tourism. Moving forward, SJM will continue to preserve the revolutionary spirit, deepening its team members’ and Macao youth’s understanding of and connection to the nation’s development.
