27 April 2025 – SJM Resorts, S.A. (“SJM”) actively supported the “Reading Month in the City of Macao 2025” campaign, which was jointly organised by the Macau Cultural Affairs Bureau and various associations. As part of this initiative, SJM organised two family reading workshops on 27 April, attracting nearly a hundred parents and their children. The goal was to promote a city-wide reading culture and to encourage the idea of “enriching life through reading.”

One of the workshops took place at GLP Arte in the Grand Lisboa Palace Resort Macau (“GLP”), where more than 20 SJM team members and their children participated. This session focused on reading picture books and was led by a professional picture book instructor. The workshop emphasised the importance of parent-child co-reading, enhancing parenting skills and allowing families to experience the joy of reading together.

The second workshop was held at the Macao Science Center, where 76 parents and children from Centro de Serviços Integrados de Apoio à Família — Fonte de Alegria e de Energia of Caritas Macau, YMCA Macau, and the Sheng Kung Hui Taipa Youth & Family Integrated Service Centre engaged with the latest picture books in the “Science Picture Book Library,” accompanied by SJM team members. Participants also enjoyed a Dome Show at the Planetarium followed by free playtime in Kids World, making for a fun and educational experience for families.

The “Reading Month in the City of Macao 2025” was co-organised by the Macao Cultural Affairs Bureau, the Organizing Committee for the Macao Events of the 15th National Games and, the Organizing Committee for the 12th National Games for Persons with Disabilities and the 9th National Special Olympic Games, the Education and Youth Affairs Bureau, and the Social Welfare Bureau.
