31 May 2025 – SJM Resorts, S.A. (“SJM”) once again presented the “SJM Macao International Dragon Boat Races” in collaboration with the Sports Bureau of the Macao SAR Government and the Dragon Boat Association of Macao, China. The event took place on May 24, 25, and 31 at the Nam Van Lake Nautical Centre. During the three-day competition, SJM fielded eight teams across various categories, with over 1,000 team members gathered by the lakeside to cheer on the crews. SJM’s teams championed first place in the inaugural Mixed Category, secured several second and third places in various divisions, and achieved an impressive fourth place in the fiercely contested Open Category of the Macao International Invitation Standard Dragon Boat Race, delivering a stunning performance that honoured and celebrated the rich culture of Dragon Boat.

A large-scale carnival was organised along the coastal area of Nam Van Lake Nautical Centre and Anim’Arte NAM VAN, providing a valuable promotional platform for local SMEs and NGOs. Nearly 30 stalls showcased a diverse range of products, including sporting goods, handicrafts, original designs, and signature Macao snacks, highlighting the creativity and vitality of the Macao community. The Tung Sin Tong Charitable Society and the Fuhong Society of Macau were invited to set up booths, promoting a spirit of inclusivity and prosperity.

Guests could also take part in a variety of interactive games and challenges designed for family fun with the return of the popular “SJM Game Zone.” Throughout the event, SJM’s mascot, “Sam the Rooster,” dressed in a Tuen Ng outfit, motivated the athletes and posed for photos with attendees, adding excitement and joy to the atmosphere. The lakeside was further enlivened by various performances, offering locals and visitors a vibrant glimpse into Macao’s festive traditions.
