SJM Organises the Second Session of Health Carnival for the Silver Age Health Promotion Programme
28 September 2025 – SJM Resorts, S.A. (“SJM”) has collaborated with the Macao New Chinese Youth Association to jointly organise the “Silver Age Health Promotion Programme”. The second session of the Health Carnival was successfully held on 28 September at the Leisure Area of Edif. Wang Hoi & Wang Kin, attracting over 2,000 citizens and young friends. The event aimed to support the building of a community networking, encourage seniors to manage their health independently, and provide a platform for communications between youth and seniors, fostering a community with inter-generational inclusivity.
The Carnival featured ten game and information booths covering topics such as blood pressure testing, weight management, healthy eating, and understanding dementia in recognition of September's “World Alzheimer's Month”. There were also stage performances, and coaches led citizens in stretching exercises. Additionally, youth from the SJM “Youth Handicraft Instructor Training Programme” taught seniors and neighbours how to create small crafts, providing practical experience for the youth and promoting respect for the elderly. The event also invited members from the Macau Down Syndrome Association, the Association for the Promotion of Friends of Intellectually Disabled People and their Elderly Family Members in Macau, and the Sheng Kung Hui Macau Social Services Coordination Office to present engaging performances, creating a lively and joyful atmosphere.
To support the “Healthy Macau Blueprint”, SJM and the Macao New Chinese Youth Association launched the “Silver Age Health Promotion Programme” in June of this year, with support from the Health Bureau of Macau. This Programme includes a series of activities, such as Health Carnivals and Health Talks, designed to help seniors improve their health management skills. Since the Programme’s inception, there have been two health carnivals, several workshops, and health talks, attracting seniors, youth, and SJM team members and their families.
