2025 CTA Tour “SJM” Professional Finals Energising Macau Campus
14 October 2025 – The 2025 CTA Tour “SJM” Professional Finals (Macau) and National Tennis Championships will take place from 1 to 7 December at the Macau Tennis Academy. This event is organised by the Tennis Administration Centre of the General Administration of Sports of China, the Sports Youth Program Centre of the Central Radio and Television Station, the China Tennis Association, and the Sports Bureau of the Macao SAR Government. It is co-organised by the Chinese Tennis Sports of Beijing Co., Ltd. and the Macau Tennis Association. SJM Resorts, S.A. (“SJM”) is the co-organiser and has also sponsored the event for the fifth consecutive year, supporting this year-end tennis gala in Macau.
To promote the development of tennis in China, the 2025 CTA Tour SJM Professional Finals (Macau) and National Tennis Championships hosted a two-day “Tennis Buddies Camp” on 13 to 14 October. This event took place at Pui Ching Middle School - Coloane Campus and invited nearly 90 teachers and students to participate. Participants had the opportunity to experience the excitement of tennis in a fun and engaging environment while connecting with like-minded individuals. The “Tennis Buddies Camp” will also visit more campuses in October and November, leading up to the tennis gala in Macau at the beginning of December. This initiative aims to encourage the public to appreciate the charm of tennis and foster its popularity and development within the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
On the day of the event, the host of the “Tennis Buddies Camp” began by introducing the overview of the CTA Tour and shared the latest developments of tennis in China. After that, two exciting team games took place. Under the guidance of professional tennis coaches, the students held tennis rackets and collaborated with their teammates, experiencing the joy of the sport while enjoying moments of laughter. The venue also displayed promotional photos of past champions of the tournament, including players such as Bu Yunchaokete, Wu Yibing, Liu Fangzhou, Wang Yafan, Cui Jie, Te Rigele, and Wang Qiang. This allowed students to see the champions up close, inspiring their aspirations and passion for tennis.
The event concluded with an award presentation and a group photo session. Representatives from the Macau Tennis Association presented commemorative gifts from the CTA Tour Professional Finals to the participating students, while outstanding students received gifts featuring SJM’s mascot, “Sam the Rooster,” from SJM representatives. This created lovely memories of a joyful occasion. This fun and educational event not only brought joy and inspiration to the students, planting the seeds for a love of sports in their hearts, but also enhanced their national confidence and sense of pride through the introduction of the development of tennis in China. The series of promotional activities of the “Tennis Buddies Camp” aimed to attract more “tennis buddies” from the Greater Bay Area, encouraging them to gather in Macau to enjoy exciting matches featuring top athletes together.
Since the establishment of the CTA Tour in 2020, SJM has successfully secured the end-of-year finals in Macau the following year and has sponsored the event for five consecutive years. This demonstrates Macau’s growing capacity to host international events and its ability to integrate resources effectively, promoting cultural exchange and integration within the Greater Bay Area. It also highlights the region’s commitment to fostering diverse economic development. The 2025 CTA Tour began in April this year in Huzhou. After a series of intense competitions across the country, top players will gather in Macau for the finals in December. The event will feature four categories: men’s singles, women’s singles, men’s doubles, and women’s doubles. The singles event will feature 16 players, while the doubles event will have eight teams, with both being conducted in a two-stage format consisting of round-robin group matches and knockout phases.
