SJM Hosts Screening of “The Volunteers: Peace at Last” to Inspire Team Members’ Patriotism
3 November 2025 – SJM Resorts, S.A. ("SJM") organised a special screening of the patriotic film “The Volunteers 3: Peace at Last” on 1 November. The event aimed to present patriotic sentiments through the movie, strengthening team members’ sense of belonging and national identity.
The screening was attended by notable guests, including Deng Qiang, Director of the Department of Economic Affairs of the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Macao SAR, and Sam Lat Kwong, Vice-Chairperson of the Macau Federation of Trade Unions. They were joined by Angela Leong, Director and Chairman of the Staff Welfare Consultative Committee of SJM, and 160 team members for the film viewing.
“The Volunteer 3: Peace at Last” provides a realistic portrayal of the challenging journey undertaken by the Chinese People’s Volunteer Army during the Fifth War to Resist US Aggressors and Aid Korea, culminating in the signing of the Korean Armistice Agreement. The film intertwines the experiences of negotiations with intense battles, emphasising the immense sacrifices and unwavering spirit of the martyrs who defended peace and their homeland. This installment is the final chapter of “The Volunteers” trilogy. Over the past two years, SJM has also organised staff screenings of the previous installments: “The Volunteers: To The War” and “The Volunteers: The Battle of Life and Death.”
SJM is the first integrated tourism and leisure enterprise in Macau to introduce systematic patriotic education programmes and red-themed tours. The company has actively organised various patriotic-themed activities, including receptions to celebrate the anniversaries of the founding of the People’s Republic of China, a sharing session on the spirit of the Two Sessions, and a patriotic sharing session to commemorate the 2025 China Victory Day Parade. Additionally, SJM has implemented the “Jinggangshan Patriotic Education and Training Programme” and organised GBA tours. The company has also arranged for team members to visit the exhibitions titled “For National Liberation and World Peace: Exhibition of the 80th Anniversary of the Victory in the Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War” and the “National Security Education Exhibition”. These initiatives aim to boost team unity and firmly embed the patriotic message of “Love the Motherland, Love Macau” within the community.
