SJM Hosts “Tell China’s Stories” Family Workshop to Promote Chinese Culture and Foster National Cohesion
24 November 2024 – To celebrate the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China and the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the Macau SAR, the Staff Welfare Consultative Committee (“SWCC”) of SJM Resorts, S.A. (“SJM”) hosted “Tell China’s Stories” family workshop on 24 November at the staff club. This event aimed to help team members and their children better understand these significant anniversaries while reflecting on past celebrations' snapshots. 25 team members and their families attended the event.
The event covered a rich array of content, including a patriotic-themed forum and family workshops. The forum addressed various themes, such as a review of Macau before and after its return to the motherland, the successful implementation and future prospect of “One Country, Two Systems”, and the promotion of national cohesion and pride to encourage the young generation to inherit the spirit of “Love the Motherland, Love Macau”. In the workshops, parents and children also learned how to paint patriotic-themed bamboo, deepening their understanding of the long history of this traditional Chinese art form.
Through this event, the SWCC aimed to nurture the patriotic spirit of team members and their children, deepen their national cohesion and pride, commemorate national history, and unite in promoting Chinese culture as they move forward together.
