SJM kicks-off vocational skills competition
SJM vocational skills competition, organised by SJM Staff Welfare Consultative Committee, kicked off after an opening ceremony at the Grand Pavilion of the Grand Lisboa Palace Resort Macau on 6 December 2021. This internal competition covers five areas, namely gaming and entertainment, Chinese culinary art, Western culinary art, housekeeping as well as hotel facilities and maintenance. The competition was well-received by around 200 staff members. Numerous awards will be presented to outstanding staff members afterwards.
Ms. Angela Leong, Managing Director of SJM and Chairman of the Staff Welfare Consultative Committee of SJM officiated at the opening ceremony, rendering support and encouragement to staff members. In her speech, she mentioned that Macau, with tourism as its major industry, has been facing challenges under the pandemic as the global economy. She believed that SJM will tide over the difficult times under the concerted efforts of all of its team members. The competition aims to provide an exchange platform for staff members, and to encourage them to constantly sharpen their skills and increase service quality. SJM is dedicated to grooming talented staff to enhance the competitiveness of the company, and to strengthen Macau’s position as a “world centre of tourism and leisure”.
The opening ceremony kicked off a series of contests amongst the staff members, which will be taken place at various venues of Grand Lisboa Palace. The award ceremony is expected to be held in January 2022.
