
SJM as driving force of Youth Talent Development in GBA “2023 Greater Bay Area Global Talents Summit” successfully concluded
2023 Greater Bay Area Global Talents Summit was successfully held at Grand Lisboa Palace Resort Macau (“Grand Lisboa Palace”) on 10 February 2023. SJM Resorts, S.A. (“SJM”) steadfastly supported the event as its title sponsor and co-organizer with the aim of attracting young talents to Macau.
The purpose of this Summit is to build a platform which helps to promote talent development in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area. In a keynote speech delivered by Managing Director of SJM Ms. Daisy Ho, she highlighted Macau’s distinctive advantages in terms of talent development in the Greater Bay Area, as well as new opportunities that are becoming available to young people driven by the synergistic effects of “Tourism +” in Macau. Ms. Daisy Ho remarked that SJM has always been committed to nurturing the next generation, upholding the spirit of patriotism and love for Macau, and facilitating the entry of Macau youth into the Greater Bay Area to help them better integrate into the national development plan. SJM actively supports the government’s efforts in talent development and encourages young, innovative people to seek opportunities in Macau and the Greater Bay Area. At the conclusion of the Summit, SJM arranged for delegates to tour Grand Lisboa Palace’s leisure and resort facilities, including the “Made in Macau” retail area, the art exhibits and Michelin-starred restaurants at Grand Lisboa Macau, as well as the Macau Tower. Delegates also visited the University of Macau to engage in exchange and dialogue.
The Summit is supervised by the Beijing Liaison Department of the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Macao Special Administrative Region, China Reform Foundation and its Talent Development Foundation. It is hosted by the Providence Academy, undertaken by Maccrew Sport Culture and Chinese Global Youth Summit, and co-organized by SJM and Nam Kwong Culture and Creativity Industry Co. Limited. The Summit also has the support from Macau Education and Youth Affairs Bureau and Macao Government Tourism Office, as well as academic support from The Charhar Institute.
As one of the flagship conferences in Macau this year, the Summit is designed to fully align with the “Outline Development Plan for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area”. Through keynote speeches by VIP guests, youth elite roundtables, multidisciplinary talent gala dinners and other activities, the Summit delved into the roles played by international talents in different industries and technological advancements. It also examined how these factors may spur Greater Bay Area development with heightened integrations. The Summit became the city’s focal highlight and was popularly attended by over 1000 delegates from all professions.
