24 May 2023 - SJM Resorts, S.A. (“SJM”) is committed to advancing charitable activities to give back to the community. In full support of the World Blood Donor Day on 16 June, SJM’s Staff Welfare Consultative Committee (“SWCC”) held a blood donation campaign to raise awareness and deepen knowledge of its employees about the importance of blood donation, and to cultivate the habit of blood donation, with the ultimate goal of ensuring sufficient supply of blood in the healthcare system of Macau.

Ms. Daisy Ho, Managing Director of SJM, and Ms. Angela Leong, Director of SJM and Chairman of the SJM SWCC, met with the voluntary donors and praised their selfless acts. They also applauded the health professionals of Macao Blood Transfusion Service for joining hands with SJM again this year in this worthy cause to donate blood to save lives. SJM’s first blood donation event was held on 29 March 2023 at Oceanus at Jai Alai, participated by 50 team members who volunteered to donate blood with the help of health professionals from Macao Blood Transfusion Service. More blood donation activities were held on 24 and 25 May, respectively, participated by a total of 110 team members from Grand Lisboa Hotel, including new recruits of SJM’s volunteer team, many of them were first-time donors. The series of events received an overwhelming response, with a significant number of senior management members signing up, spreading love and positive energy to our society. Moreover, the 2-day blood donation activity held at Grand Lisboa Palace Resort Macau on 7 to 8 June recorded a participation of over 100 team members.

A new joiner to the company, who was also a first-time donor, commented, “Apart from saving lives and bringing hope to others, donating blood can also activate our blood circulatory system. I hope more people will join me in this meaningful event.” Another team member who participated in the blood donation event for the second consecutive year, said, “I strongly support charity and community activities organised by the Company. This year marks my second time of participation. I will continue supporting the event in the future, to help those in needs and give back to society.”

As a local enterprise rooted in Macau, SJM is committed to promoting and hosting various charity and community activities. By holding a series of blood drive activities in various properties of the Company, SJM aims to promote, motivate, and support its team members to proactively donate blood, and later share their experience with families, friends and the general public, aiming to encourage more people to join, passing the love flame from generation to generation. These events also aimed to carry forward our corporate spirit of safeguarding Macau’s blood reserve by true action.
